More technology ranting...

Also, to add to my really long previous rant, all electronic devices have coltan which is heat resistant so your cellphone doesn't say, explode into flames in your pocket. Coltan is mined from either Australia or Africa generally. But often, it is unethically sourced and mined. As in, often phone brands will have child labour used to mine the coltan or underpay or not pay at all, their employees. Unfortunatly, not a lot of people know about this, so no one has really raised their voice to stop this. Except for one guy... but I forgot his name. I guess tthat will be its own post... But anyways, it would be really good if people went and asked the companies if the coltan they use is ethically sourced or not. SO YEAH.

  1. That's a really interesting point about Coltan. I had absolutely no idea?!? I often wonder about where things are made and who makes them. This may be a concept you want to explore for your independent study?
